At 16 years old, Kimmie Meissner won
the World title at the 2006 World Figure Skating
Championships in Calgary, Canada. Meissner, who is the
reigning U.S. silver medalist, landed two triple-triple
combinations en route to the gold medal over silver medalist
Fumie Suguri of Japan and Olympic silver medalist Sasha
Cohen. Meissner is a junior at Fallston High School in
Maryland and is now performing on the Champions on Ice tour.
She plans to keep skating until the 2010 Olympic Winter
Games. |
